Standup comedy is an art and story craft through which a comedian tells a short story to an audience, sharing with them through a microphone on stage. The performer, also known as a comedian, stand-ups by definition stand-down comedian, standup comedian, comic, standup artist, standup writer, or just a standup is usually known as a standup comedy magician, standup comedian or just simply standup comedian. Comedy routines, also known as sets, are short bits or acts of a comedy routine acted out and revealed through a witty and entertaining manner of presentation.
Stand-up comedies are almost always non-comedic acts and rely mainly on the comedian’s ability to elicit laughs from the audience with his delivery. Improvisational, the style in which a comedian makes use of everyday objects and events, is also often regarded as a form of comedy. When you want to learn how to perform comedy routines, there are a couple of different things you should keep in mind. The first is that you have to get the right mic for the job. If you don’t have a microphone that is suitable for the job or one that fits your style and voice, then your routine will not be as funny. So make sure that you pick up a mic from a good source, such as a friend or a family member. And if possible, invest in a microphone that is a little more advanced, such as a Podcaster. Comedy is a genre of non-fiction that usually includes works or discourses intended to be amusing or witty, usually by inducing humor, usually in live performance, comedy shows, film, TV, stand-up comedy, books, or other media. Comedy artists are those who perform comedy art in different forms such as stand-up comedy, improvisation, sketches, comedy clubs, and one liners.
There has been no concrete set of standards for assessing the level of comedy as each artist may choose to tailor his approach to the style of delivery and feedback from the audience members.
